2009 Summer Riding Camp Schedule

Many children are entranced by the majesty of horses.  Horses can help build self-confidence and teach responsibility, and riding is a great form of exercise.  FWF’s summer riding camp is a unique opportunity for children and young adults ages 6 – 17 to learn about horses, ride, and have fun in a safe and healthy environment.

Summer camp students will learn:

• Safe conduct around horses
• English Saddleseat riding
• Proper horse care, including grooming, tacking up, and feeding
• Different breeds, types, and colors of horses
• Horse equipment and how to take care of it
• Sportsmanship and showmanship

What to bring and what to wear:

Campers should bring sunscreen, lunch and a beverage.  A refrigerator is available will be available.  Snacks and bottled water will be provided.

all Campers are required to wear long pants, jeans or jodphurs and good-fitting sneakers or boots with tread when riding; however, because of the usual hot north carolina summers, campers are welcome to bring a change of cooler clothing. 

Hours:

Full day            8:30 AM – 4 PM

Half day            8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Rates:

Full day fee:  $350.00

2nd child discount - $25.00

Half day fee:  $175.00

2nd child discount - $15.00

(Please note camp fees will not be discounted or pro-rated for any day(s) missed.)

Aftercare PM is available until 5:30 for $5.00 per hour per child.

To register complete and submit the 2009 FWF Camp Application and Release of Liability along with non-refundable deposit to FWF at the address below.  Deposit for full day campers is $100.00 and $50.00 for half day campers.
